A group of Stanford researchers are using volunteer computers from people around the world, which has the same computational power as a supercomputer, to fight coronavirus as well. Anyone can lend their computer to this project. This distributed computing project is studying the protein folding of the virus, which according to the researchers cannot be done as efficiently on a supercomputer.
